Kaden's Footrest (Dad)

Since Kaden was sitting in his chair and his footrest wasn't handy, I thought I'd jump in and help out.

Here is a photo that Kaden took of me. Maybe I thought he'd drop the camera, lens first?

Saturday Lunch Flight

Tim B and I went to the airport to take the Archer out for some lunch in Mansfield, OH (MFD). Starting it was not going my way. Five minutes later and an almost-dead battery, it caught. Whew!

After taking off, climbing to 5,500' and tuning the ATIS at MFD, I heard that the Flying Turtle Cafe was closed. Dang it! We decided that Urbana (I74) would do, so we headed south and landed there. It was busy! Even though the temps were around 30F, there were up to eight airplanes parked at one time with more coming. We had some turkey club sandwiches and pie. Yum! I got a piece to bring home to Laura - banana cream.

After a nice, smooth flight back, we landed in Bluffton. Visibility today was unbelievable and it was pretty smooth above 2,500' or so. It was a nice flight after so much time off. Now, bring the crappy weather!

Lunch Flight Over Cedar Point

Since I haven't gone up in over a month, I needed some air time. After all the crappy weather and more on the way, I had to get out over lunch today and fly somewhere. I saw someone else I knew was going to fly up to Sandusky, so I thought it a good time to fly up myself.

I took the Arrow to 3,500' and just used the compass and sectional to get there. The snow made it a bit harder, but it wasn't too bad.

I circled around Cedar Point, got above the clouds and then headed home. It was a nice lunch.

Doing my run-up. (Taking a photo on the cell with the lid closed makes a mirror image. Oh well.)

2007 Running Update - 102.8 Miles

I just wanted to post a little update of my running progress for 2007. At the beginning of the year, I posted that I wanted to run at least 500 miles in 2007. Well, one month and 19 days into the year, I am over 1/5 of the way there. Originally planning to run about 10 miles per week, I am now doing closer to 20+ per week.

Either way, you can track my running via a daily log by clicking here.

Happy trails!

Kaden's First Fort

With Laura at work and a huge, empty box sitting on the floor, what better to do today than make a little fort with Kaden? He liked crawling in and out of it, so once I used the blanket as a makeshift door, it officially become a fort. And I was invited. (As you can see, quarters were tight for me.)

Anyway, he loves the box.

Home Theater Setup

After getting the Vizio plasma hung this evening with Laura's help and not having to get up for work tomorrow, I thought I might as well pull all the speakers out and hook them up. An hour or so later, I officially have surround sound. I mounted the surrounds today while she was at work.

While I got the system functioning, that's probably the best word to describe it. It still needs a LOT of tweaking. That Denon receiver is a monster with a ton of features and a thick user's manual to go along with it. All of the Axiom speakers seem to be making sound. I guess that's a start.

Our furniture should be in this month along with my Sanus AV cabinet. It will look very sweet. (At least it'll look a lot better than a coffee table. Obviously what you see in the photo is temporary.)

205# And Dropping

After a 4.56 mile (40 minutes) run today at the YMCA, I came home to weigh in at 205#. Woohoo! I saw 206# once last week and am still dropping.

Proof...

Saturday Room Update

The carpet was finally installed yesterday and now we're only needing to install the trim. I think Laura decided on white, so we'll have that up in a few days. All the furniture will be in within the next couple weeks, so we'll start moving the desk and such in there too.

Anyway...here is the carpet. It's soft.

Cuddly Kaden

Kaden was feeling cuddly tonight before he had to go to bed. It was pretty cute. He usually won't just lay down with you and watch TV.

About ten minutes after these photos, he was sound asleep.

Kaden's First Sledding Trip

We headed to the reservoir for three goes at the hill. He liked going up and coming down. He did NOT like getting snow on his face. After one trip by myself, I can't say I blame him.
