Some friends of ours came over on Friday evening and brought some cupcakes. One of them was especially for Kaden, in a special "donkey bowl" and everything. After he chowed his supper (1.5 hot dogs and an adult serving of corn, he still seemed hungry.
After ten minutes with the cupcake, he was ready for some milk and for some more rough-housing on the floor. What a cutie!

WrenFamily.org Is Dead
This morning when I tried to access our website, I was met with a "Server Not Found" message. Upon logging onto my control panel, I found that our domain name had lapsed. I contacted Aplus.Net and they informed me it would cost ~$180 to get it back right now. No way, Jose.
I canceled my hosting plan with them and may try to buy it back in a couple months when it will again cost $5 per year instead of the big fee. Or, not. I wouldn't mind just sticking with this blog as my "main site". You can get to everything else (minus the photo gallery, which is gone) through the links on the side.
So in case you wondered where it went, that's the story.

Sunday Lunch
We headed over to Laura's parents' house for the (mostly) weekly lunch after church. They all got their Valentine's Day bags-o-goodies to eat and play with. They also did some painting where, apparently, Kaden wasn't told he shouldn't paint his cousin.

Long Saturday
Today was a pretty full day. We got a lot done. Kaden spent the night at my parents' house, so after the YMCA (Brandon) at 7a and then some breakfast, we headed off to Ashley Furniture to outfit the new room. Three hours later, we had it all picked out and no money left. We picked up a leather couch, Durapella chaise, chair, ottoman and recliner. We also picked out a sofa table, end table, coffee table and a small Durapella storage ottoman. Here are pictures of the sofa and chaise I took a few weeks ago:

We picked up Kaden and headed home where Laura's dad was working on heating and AC ductwork to the new room. I changed and headed down for an hour to help until he left. I finished taking more stuff down and then took a shower.
After a nap for all of us, we headed out to eat dinner at Captain D's and then Laura dropped Kaden and I off at the mall while she went off to do some clothes shopping. About an hour and a half later, she picked us up with a huge bag of clothes from Kohl's. Kaden and I had fun walking the mall with the stroller and no where to go.
What a day.

Out To Eat
We headed out to eat and then to pick out some furniture at Ashley. Well, after a short trip to MC Sporting Goods, a long sit down at Bob Evans and a wet diaper (on Kaden), we only had 30 minutes left and so we just headed home.
We'll try again on Saturday.

50 Minute Run
This morning at the YMCA I programmed the treadmill for a 60 minute run. Last night I decided that I would do it by sometime next week. Well, this morning I decided that I'd do it right now.
About 45 minutes into the run I started doubting the 60 minute mark due to some aches and pains. Also, I was starting to get winded. I decided that 50 minutes would be a good goal and that I'd just step up 55 and then 60 on the next two workouts.
5.52 miles later, the 50 minute mark came and I stopped. Whew!

Monday Room Update
It's been awhile since I've done one, but we finally got some more stuff done in the room. As you can see, outlets, switches, ceiling fan and the rest of the paint is up. Also, the French door to the room is put in and Laura spent 2.5 hours staining it on Saturday night. Ugh.
All we need now is trim (bought), carpet (bought and waiting) and the floor vents installed (this week). I think it's time to start picking out furniture!

Kaden - Bananas & Xbox
Does life get any better? Kaden has taken a liking to just sitting around eating fruit. Good man. Although his favorite fruit still comes in "super hero" shape and in a small plastic bag, he'll eat raw fruit pretty well too.
Also, I got him playing some Burger King games today on Xbox. I haven't had it hooked up for about a year, so I borrowed some games and got Kaden into the mix. He seems to enjoy it even though he has zero clue as to what's going on. Oh well - it makes for cute photos.

Flying With John P
After a little breakfast at the Lima Airport this morning, John P and I went up in his Traveler. He wanted to do a little testing of the autopilot, Garmin 496 and some air speeds. After a COLD 20-30 minutes in his 0 degree F hangar waiting for the engine to warm, we pulled it out and took off.
We went up and did some four direction speed runs at two altitudes. The indicated on both ended up being about 113 to 115, but I'm not sure what he found as his GPS averages. I'm sure they were higher.
After that, we tracked a VOR radial on his S-tec 30 autopilot and then flew over to the "big antenna" southwest of Lima. Within a mile or so under its top altitude, a big warning box showed on the Garmin. Success!
We tested the BC tracking of the AP and it worked just fine. (Gotta love new autopilots coupled to sweet Garmin stacks.)
After a go-around due to some nasty crosswind with the CFI looking on, John made a sweet landing right after Jim took off to break-in his new engine some more.
One word about this flight... BRRRRR!!!
